Mini Bio

Actor William Grannel was born on March 30, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York. He's perhaps best known as Cheri Caffaro's likable and easygoing private investigator superior Jason Varone in the notoriously scuzzy early 70's "Ginger" exploitation movies. Grannel had a small role as a meek henpecked husband in the alarmingly awful micro-budget horror atrocity "Carnival of Blood." William also pops up in the soft-core features "The Love Object" and "Women Women Women Moira." He acted in the Off-Broadway plays "Pets" and "Good Woman of Setzuan." Grannel worked as an understudy for the 1969 Broadway stage production of "Fire!" and was featured as a cast member in a late 60's Broadway stage production of the comedy play "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern." William Grannel died on January 23, 1986 in San Francisco, California.
